I know it's been over 2 months, but here are
some pictures from when Ryan proposed...
In case you never heard the story, here's a quick recap...
It happened on Saturday, August 30th, we were driving home from Point Pleasant Beach (I had a beach volleyball tournament that day). Half way through our drive, Ryan decided to pull over at a Rest Stop/Scenic Overlook on the side of 295. A little story about this bridge... ever since we started dating, every time we drive to & from my parents' house in North Jersey, we pass this beautiful bridge/overpass across the Delaware River, it looks amazing specially when the sun is setting... so for 4 years, everytime we've passed it, we've said "we should stop here sometime" but never really did.
Well... we stopped that day... even thought it was about to rain the sky was really pretty, the sunset looked like a painting with purples, oranges and pinks-how perfect ;) So we were looking at the water, talking and hugging... since I'm only 5'3", my head was on his chest so I heard his heart and it was going crazy... so I asked him "babe why is your heart beating so fast?" and he just said "oh it's probably........" not a big deal...
So like I said it was about to rain & we still had about 45-50 minutes left of our drive... so I told him we should go.
That's when he grabbed my hand and got on one knee... I don't remember everything he said, I was pretty shocked. I even told him to "stop kidding" because he had gotten on one knee before, when our friends were over, as a joke and handed me a plastic ring I had from my friend's bachelorette party. But he wasn't kidding this time, he took a little black box out of his bathing suit pocket (which he had with him the whole day at the beach) and asked me to marry him.
I said of course, kissed him and hugged him...
his heart was still going a mile a minute...
So we got in the car, at that point it was pouring out... so we just stayed in the car for another 10-15 minutes, while my shock was wearing down and our hearts were slowing down... we kissed and hugged some more, called our parents and drove home...
